NYC Group

Public Group active 2 days, 12 hours ago

This can be more than a Manhattan group if people in the other boroughs would travel there for any in person stuff. (I live in Bronx, work in Manhattan, would also go to Bklyn, for example.) Or if people rather have each borough with it’s own group, have at it.

For the next meeting happening Feb. 6th (most likely) we are going to be doing street interviews so lets get some sample questions going.

    I’ll post Anton’s:

“What would you do to change the world?”
    or was it…
“How would you change the world?”

sorry Anton lol I don’t really remember EXACTLY how the question went.

UPDATE: Here are some of the questions people have submitted:
    1. What would you like to change in the world and why?

    2. Do you think that most ppl in the world want peace? If yes, then why do you think we don’t have peace yet?

    3. Do you think war solves anything?

    4. Who do you think is affected by war the most?

    5. Out of the billions of ppl in the world today, what percentage do you think benefits from war?

    6. Do you think that the government that is supported by tax dollars, has far more advanced technology than the general public has been made aware? If yes, do you think this technology can be applied to benefit humanity? Do you think they eventually will use it to benefit humanity?

    7. Why do you think so many ppl are so sick with diseases and go hungry and are left with no shelter when our technology has advanced?

    8. Do you think that ppl need governments? If yes, for what purpose?

    9. What do you think would happen if there were no monetary system in today’s technologically advanced world?

    10. What do you feel is the most important issue in the world right now?

    11. What rights should people be born with according to their society?

    12. How Can We End World Poverty?

Let’s appeal mainly to people’s core values. We ask question s about what kind of world they think the future(children)generations should be allowed to have. Human Rights. “What rights should people be born with according to their society?” Ask them if they think the world should be divided up.-or-shared as one common people despite geopolitical differences and divisionary boundaries like social, technological and cultural status. All an individual really has to think about is their own standing and what privileges or boundaries that they themselves have dealt with or seen in some way. Finding undeniably common groend will be the indestructible foundation of this and all movements that we can join with!

Make it a part of the questionnaire to establish inside the individual a strong sense of what REAL change entails and how it takes cooperation and a complete structural change in our socioeconomic environment. Everyone reaching their potential without the current producer/consumer boundaries of our modern world!

I would like some feedback from anyone who reads these ideas please…:)

What do you feel is the most important issue in the world right now?
with this question we can identify the persons problem and give a solution.

-we should all be familiar with the F.A.Q. if we will be out there and the key is to not be frustrated and know when you don’t know.

-I got 5000 business cards for $150 and those were the expesive ones. I think the cheap ones are half the price.
we can design and order them according to the date or event (holiday, based of something from T.V. etc etc.)aiming for particular age groups, sex, culture, religion idc as long as they end up checking it out.

-we can also conduct a survey to see what’s really on the minds of new yorkers.

-remember its advertising The Venus Project

    7 Billion living in peace

    7 Billion having clean water

    7 Billion having food

    7 Billion having shelters

Thats… 7 + 7 + 7 +7 = 28 Billion problems solved, that would be decent for a day worth of work if we made that possible, together.

No individual, corporation, government or a single nation can solve such vast problems. Putting minds to do this… that could be a start.

What would you like to see in the Future? =)

In my experience with talkin with people they know a lot of things in the world messed up. They typically feel bad about it but are more concerned about their problems. So i like to start with something along the lines of” have you or anyone you know or care about has been affected or worrying about beeing affected by how the economy is going?” Depending on their answer which is usually health care, losing jobs, transit fare going up, cutting of school metro cards. I expand on that.

I have some experience with creating interview questions in social science…would love to help with designing interview questions/training people on the most effective ways of interviewing…

Here are just a couple of pointers:

Try to keep questions open-ended: “How do you feel about…” “Tell me your thoughts on…” “What are some things you would like done having to do with…” rather than questions that elicit only yes/no responses.

Try to ask questions that are absent of your own assumptions/bias: So instead of asking about whether or not people are worried about the economy, ask them how they feel about the economy.

On another note: How do you all propose we address the problem of people ignoring/scampering away from us? I know a lot of times, people who stand on the street and trying to stop people to talk to them are either a) asking for money or b) trying to get you to sign up for something that will probably, in the end, lead to you giving some king of money away.

Big signs with some message that engages people before they have a chance to assume our intentions? Something else? Ideas??

  • Avatar Image mybigblue said 6 months ago:

Everyone here has excellent ideas, but keep in mind a lot of people are still very unaware of the causes to all the problems they face, and their brain washed.

Most haven’t chosen the red pill, and if we try to cram it down their throats we’re gonna lose them.

Quite frankly I’ve met a whole lot of people who think that zeitgeist is a group of “crazies”, “tree huggers”, “conspiracy theorists”, etc…

So two things, I can think of off the top.
First, we have to establish who we are, and gain respect.
Second, we have to be open minded ourselves and tactful when asking people to express their views and reciprocate respect.

Finally, we should definitely let people know we don’t want money!

We can put website links to solutions on papers and hand them out according to peoples problems like on a global scale. For example if someone says that we can’t create houses for people, we can give them youtube links to hempcrete.
or if someone says that energy will always be high we can give them links to current solar power collecting technology,
    we can provide the answers

This is good also to keep in mind.

That is a great guide to public speaking Nathan!

ps: Here is how we rapidly construct houses.

    and here is another way…

We can always give people these things despite their interest (so not just here is ONE website to answer your ONE concern). These websites could all be on one handout together. So we can point to the one they are interested in, and then they will receive the other ones as well (and we can point those out to them verbally: “While you’re looking up that information on housing, you should really check out this link on solar power technology too!” etc…

  • Avatar Image NathanB said 6 months ago:

Good ideas! I like the idea of a sign so they know what we are about. Mabye the earth sign with the word UNITY instead of zeitgeist so we dont have to defend anything.

  • Avatar Image jancoldwater said 6 months ago:

Hey all! I am a “newbie” and love the Venus Project concept. It makes perfect sense.

I would love to see these questions asked of the ppl on the streets…

Well, these are some of the questions that I would love ppl to think about. There is enough going wrong in this world that I think it wouldn’t take much for ppl to understand. In other words, the recycling of America’s past and humanity as a whole has made it apparent that the need for freedom is finally converging on the nonsensical divides that have delayed the human potential thus far.

Just to make sure I understand, Diego…are these street interviews going to be video taped?

If so, we probably need to get a quick waiver from them, at least an on-camera, verbal waiver…

Also, how many cameras will we need? One for each person interviewing, I’d imagine, yes?
