Global Warming? Snow Flakes in October?
October 15, 2009 in Global Warming
That is right!
I just looked out my window (Brewster, NY- 1hr from NYC) and there were snow flakes falling from the sky! Huh? Yea its warming up alright.

The Great Global Warming Swindle <- Watch it and Research.

Because it still gets cold doesn’t mean global warming is not real. I been interested and studying global warming for about 17 years. When nobody was paying attention and all these talks and debates that are going on now wasn’t even a thought. Well at least not in the public. I looked at predictions of how fast the ice will melt and then seen them changed over and over. Still after all this time I am not sure what to make up about it. Let’s be honest, nobody does because nothing like this has ever happened. Sure the earth goes through warm and cold periods but during the history of this planet, the air wasn’t being pumped with harmful gases. I personally don’t believe we can pump millions of tons of toxic gases that are already known to trap in heat into our air and not have consequences. Sure people changed their position to make it profitable. This should not come as a surprise. Nor does that mean the idea is a lie because greedy people want to take advantage of it.
Take religion as a prime example. Look how that has changed. First science and religion could not work together. Then when religion realized they were losing the intellectually battle, out came creationist. Now science could be used for their side. So what was once a hindrance now is used as an advantage. A poor one I might add lol.
We effect this planet in so many ways. As you all know we effect water, land and the air. All in negative ways. My suggestion is not to jump to global warming being made up. Nobody fully knows or understands how we are effecting this planet and what will happen because of it, but be sure that we are. We would be getting off easy if global warming was made up.

Moety and Diego are both right. The way we effect the planet is only really relevant to us-because of the fact that the damage is done to US, the human race. If you look at this planet relative to a living thing as it is, then you can see us a sort of pollution based fungus or disease as ‘Agent Smith’ said in ‘The Matrix’ as he tortured ‘Morpheus’. The Earth is resistant to everything short of a meteor, black hole or the sun destroying it. Even if we let off all the nukes it would only eradicate the surface and leave nature to have to start everything over again.
The joke of it all is the recent ‘Green Movement’ that Gore and Corporate America cooked up to try to make some dough. As George Carlin said; “Save the planet??” “Are these people serious?” “The planet’s not going anywhere…WE are.” “We’re going away.” Protecting the environment is just an extension of protecting ourselves-it’s not noble or brag worthy, it’s self preservation.
But that’s why we’re here on this site isn’t it? The socio, bio and economical situation is looking so grim that many of us are MOVED(hence a movement)to actually try to do something about it.
It’s not that we are heroes-it’s just that we are more informed because of the WAY the info was presented to us.

The Weather may be changing BUT its not man made
However, we have been messing up the environment BADLY with all the pollution we have been causing and continue to do so.

While ‘Gases being pumped into the air’ has never happened, global warming (and cooling) has. Several sources in the video state that “Greenhouse gases” are a very very small fraction of the gases that make up our atmosphere. Which gases are you refering to that are, as you say, “known to trap in heat into our air” and how can they contribute to the climate change if they are such a small fraction of the atmosphere?
I ask, not to prove you wrong, but to find out why you are against what the video proposes.
Diego Rodrigues said on October 15, 2009
He is referring to CO2
But as the video doc. shows; CO2 is a byproduct of earth warming up, not the other way around. As the oceans, being the major contributor of the CO2 in the atmosphere, warms up from what scientist believe is Sun Spot activity which drives the earths climate, it emits more CO2 into the atmosphere.

I honestly think global warming is real- to an extent. Do I believe I’ll see global temperatures change at all in my lifetime due to gasses? No. I think that the world will warm due to our gasses, but not nearly on the timeline presented. I can see maybe 1 degree of global change in the next 200 years (which is actualy based on studies).
So no its not severe, and no it probably wont be the end to all society and animal/plant life alike. For now, its a fantastic diversion for political issues isnt it?
(If you ask me, I want global warmng to hurry up! I go to work at 5 A.M., and it snows. Its not even november!)

I never said I was against what the video proposes Daevski. That was you my friend. Just to point out I never said we are the cause/man made. If you see I emphasized effect. Can you say for certain, if we humans weren’t here the very same thing would be happening now in the same exact way? We don’t have to make a huge impact for it to be disastrous even thought that is usually the case. Just enough to tip the scale. The straw that breaks the camels back. As I said “we effect water, land and the air” we have enough bombs to probably destroy the world as we know it 100 times over but we can’t effect the climate? That is the one thing out of our reach? That brings a sarcastic smirk to my face. I don’t rule out that we don’t effect the climate. I have been aware of the argument that we don’t for a long time. Far longer then most of the global warming ban wagon jumpers. I do believe for every action taken they will be a reaction because of it. As I said “I personally don’t believe we can pump millions of tons of toxic gases that are already known to trap in heat into our air and not have consequences.” I don’t exclude the possibility it contributes to it. Showing places that gets snow doesn’t rule it out no more then showing places that has drought is suppose to prove global warming. Which leads back to my original point. Nobody knows or can fully predict what will happen or the long term effects.

First of all…I hope everyone understands that the blog entry was just my bad sense of humor, and not evidence against man made global warming.:)
@Moety2
“Showing places that gets snow doesn’t rule it out no more then showing places that has drought is suppose to prove global warming.”
You’re right because there has been a study done recently that suggests that the recent droughts in places like california, are most likely due to ocean currents shifts.

I can’t find the original source that I looked at a few days ago but above is a few similar examples.

Ahh, so the link posted in the blog was also part of the bad humor?? Fooled me good lol
Very interesting. This is exactly my point. If I had a nickel how many times new information that was not considered changes how you look at a situation I would build my own VP lol. I work in a law firm so I am use to paying close attention to the wording used. Just in that link alone, “indian ocean BELIEVED responsible” In other words it may or may not be. Now you will have some people going on saying that like it’s a fact, when to me, all it means there are so many possibilities that has not been considered and we should before we attempted to give answers.

From what I have read and seen., I think the evidence is against the man made global warming claims. However, we still need to start using alternative methods of energy that is clean and renewable ( geothermal…etc..)
Diego Rodrigues said on October 19, 2009
Its funny how we argue about man made global warming but at the same time we are all here working to change society into a society in which global warming wont be a problem because we will be using geothermal in combination with electric transportation
Both are “green” practices.
